Who knew!? There is a 42-mile hike that physically circles the city of Denver on trails. It's called the 9 Creeks Loop. I had the opportunity this month to explore a segment of it right in the middle of the city. Next to major roadways and between 
the old Stapleton Runway awaits the Sand Creek trailhead just off Smith Road.

For those who were able to make it know that the Mural Festival was a lot of fun! It was so special to meet the Artist, Patrick Maxcy Art and other folks in the community who desire to be a part of something bigger. The finished mural can be located at 9450 Smith Road. Denver.

I hope you all have hit a lot of things on your summer bucket list because autumn is fast approaching! I always look forward to this time of year because you can literally feel the energy shift. I know at least for me, feels like I have more time during the day to get things done and although we will not see another sunset after 8 pm for the next 9 months, till' May 2025, there is a lot that can be accomplished in that time! 
All the above events I plan on attending with or without a client appointment, therefore if you are interested in getting together for leisure, it is always an option as well. 
Between the demands of life's day to day, it's easy to keep a perpetuating cycle but I personally believe in self-care and optimum wellness therefore, AY+ Photo is hosting Labor FREE day photoshoot September 2nd, 2024. Considering many may be off of work it's a good chance to freshen up your professional portfolio or simply to switch up an evening, after the 8 hours is done. Mark your calendars for September 14th, 2024 and join the Sand Creek Mural Festival; Paint the Mural. and contribute to a growing tradition. This second annual event invites you, your friends, and family to make it a recurring gathering for the coming years! Why? Here's a fun fact: "The SCRGP plans to fill all 3,000 linear feet of the Sand Creek Art Walk walls with art over the next three years!" Then, get ready for the Boo N' Brew event at Town center at Aurora, on October 26th, 2024. Their biggest event of the year and I'll be part of the festivities where mall retailers will take part in the traditions of the season with candy. My my time got away last month!
I hope you're out there enjoying the longer days and warmer weather.
Let's face it. Life is busy and sometimes gets messy. 
But in March I've been practicing what I preach. Exploring my creative interests and taking some time for my own self-care. I'm blessed to do it in a way that also serves others, and let me tell ya, it's been an amazing month. 

So, Happy Spring and April! 

To the few that came out for my Launch party in February, your support is the driving force behind AY+ Photo! 
Not only did you encourage me to grind harder and put myself out there, but the special affirmations were super encouraging. 
As promised, I was to announce the drawing results. The note I blindly picked from the jar said, "you are a joyous caring soul, and we love you dearly."
Shout out to Sally and Wayne for that. Thank you so very much! You two are offered a free session! Whenever, wherever you choose!!

As I write this, it's 75° and I'm listening to a bird conversation. One is chirping in my back yard, and another is responding nearby. It's delightful.
Paying attention to the natural world always helps me feel grounded. It's easy to worry about big things like financial harmony and small things like the baby's lost shoe, but sometimes there's nothing left to do except open the windows and enjoy the sounds of springtime.

Later next week, I'll pack my car with some photography gear, my poetry and crafts along with my mama as we head outta state to good Ol' Nebraska, for a much-needed family visit with my 96-year-old grandmother! God bless her. 
I also look forward to my debut performance at a Lincoln Poetry Slam.
I'll host a Vision board party in my hometown hoping to engage with others on a deeper level.
Finally, I've scheduled a lovely engagement photoshoot in a healing garden. After all that, I'll have to make the long drive back where I have plenty of additional opportunities lined up this month.

Thank you to everyone who came out to show support for my professional journey as a photographer. You all make me better. I've always loved taking event pictures and this opportunity allowed me to explore my style even deeper and continue to build my portfolio. Everyone was so kind to share their name and affirmation which was entered into a drawing for a FREE PHOTO SESSION with me! I will announce the winner come March 2024! You don't have to wait long; thanks to the rare date of February 29th. I will make the most of my Leap Day by reading the encouragement provided by my friends and family. ...The AY+ Photo shoot Launch party was rescheduled due to a massive snowstorm that hit on the morning of the event! I can believe it. I took the chance anyways, and it was a GREAT learning experience!
On another note, this is the first weekend of February but boy was January busy! Both personally and professionally. I attended a "Noon Years Eve" event along with a food photography session in Lone Tree. I took a trip downtown Denver and laid eyes on a phenomenal new condo that is under construction. One River North tower has a huge crack through its center. I also spotted some beautiful houses now revealed with construction in Glendale.
